Biography Romulus Câmpan Maramureșanu M-am născut acum șase decenii astăzi, în Maramureșul băimărean al Transilvaniei, fără să-mi fi cerut cineva opinia, într-o duminecă tristă de mai, a anilor ’60, întâi prunc al unei femei care de-abia împlinise în aceeași lună 18 ani, și al un tată căruia i-am dedicat acum câțiva ani, poemul ”Tați orci”. Tempus fugit. La 8 noiembrie 2012, în singurătatea sumbră de „asistent personal”, de fapt „asistent casnic” 24/7 al unui (binevoitor de altfel) cetățean britanic nevoit să trăiască urmările catastrofale ale unui accident vascular cerebral, scriam în lacrimi, în poemul „Țării mele...”: „[…] Să nu te mai văd niciodată. Măcar până-n ziua când culcați pe eșafodul istoriei, te-oi mai ruga să mă mai ierți, încă o dată...” (fragment). Pentru a complica intențiile unor eventuali „judecători de fotoliu”, fiți reamintiți că după ruperea în iunie 1990, din reale motive politice, de Țară, și stabilirea până în 2010 în Ungaria celeilalte jumătății(?) a unei triste moșteniri genetice, a trebuit să-mi sfâșii din nou puțina piele crescută pe noile rădăcini, rupându-mă și de familia primită între timp, pentru ca pâinea cea de toate zilele câștigată din munca unui profesor titular de liceu, de asemenea pedagog și traducător/translator guvernamental, să nu ajungă numai „mai toate” zilele. Da, pruncii mei și mama lor, au început a mânca și trăi mai bine, eu însă, cu căprioara lui Labiș încă zvâcnind înlăuntru de câte ori ridicam lingura, mâncam plângând. Aș fi putut să-mi fac această poezie a unei nenorocite iubiri de țară și neam, inexistentă; am decis însă să-mi târîi rușinea impusă, în sperata veșnicie a acestei poem, frântură de frământare a unor vremuri vitrege. Se pare însă, că după mai bine de două decenii, și după publicarea a două ediții ale primului meu volum de poezie în limba engleză, „Defiant Hopelessness”, și a volumului următor ”Upside-down, Abandoned Heartstrings, din „confortul” puțin al unui cărucior de invalizi, scriu Țării plaiurilor mele, cerând cea de-a „încă o dată” iertare, după ce furtuni literare spirituale și sufletești, mi-au deschis din nou inima și gândul, cuvântului, versului românesc. Închei cu un poem al luminarului artistic care mi-a devenit în poate cel mai tulbur val al vieții mele, părinte și maestru literar, căruia veșnicia nu-mi va fi de ajuns să-i mulțumesc rădăcinile-mi de om de litere și artă, Domnului Profesor Griguță Augustin Botiș, hodinească-se-n pacea poeziei: ”Amintirea nu uită Tu poți fi trădat amintirea nu, tu dormi, tu uiți, tu mori, amintirea nu uită, nu moare, amintirea cântă și cântecul bate la uși... Nepăsarea poate răbda, cântecul însă veghează - Augustin Botiș”
